The show integral distribution displays th integral of the channels selected for acquisition.

The vi starts automatically when called. The user must close the window to stop it.

To start the program double click on netscope_main_4 .     Iif you are using an application distribution, you will have to open the .llb file and locate netscope_main_4.

The first time you start the program you will need to reset the path to default.xml file.

If Everything is correct, the following screen wil appear :

 Choose Configure to configue the parameters.

Select the data source using Run Type:

  • Ininium
  • HP54616
  • NiScope If you choose NiScope make sure the appropriate software is installed . See NiScope cards instructions
  •  Simulation.

 


The button Reset data  resets the data stored. If the button Reset data for each new run is selected, the data buffers are reinitialized automatically at the end of each run.

The Active Channels indictor, signals wich channels hve been selected in the acquisition.

If Acquire Waveform is selected, the waveform data is collected, otherwise only the oscilloscope measuments are recorded 

The Show Integral Distribution, Display Waveform and Show Histograms  buttons activate online analysis functions. See next sections 

 

If write to file is selected, at the end of the run data is stored to a file .

Data stoed include  a pedestal sample , pedestal and peak for each event. The peak is calculated as a dfference between   the maximum value and he pedestal value.

The pedestal is calculated  as the average over a section of the waveform before the trigger.  

The peak finding procedure can be set in the  configuration session.

The display waveform displays the waveform  and the points used for pedestal and peak calculation .

You can find the latest releases of Netscope at Sourceforge 

There are different tipes of releases:

application (app) . It's a labview library that contains  all the vi that are needed, inclung those available with the Labview package. This tpe of release should run as stand alone package, provided you have labview installed. If  dgr  is specified in the release name,  the diagrams are ialso ncluded and you can edit them ( at  your own risk)

developement (dev)  contains just the netscope measure. requires the full  Labview developement package. Some vis included in the developement package are needed, but they are not included in the standard Labview package. You can find them in an application developement or in tis file : notInBasePackage.zip .

 

 

The current version of netscope is netscope 4. The latest release is Netscope4.01

Installation will depend on the the type of distribution.

The 'application' distributions should run immediately.

In some cases you may find that you needa set of Laview rotutines are not available in the base package.  You can find them in this file  :  notInBasePackage.zip

Accessing the default request 

Open netscope_globals.vi. Set the path of the default request to your configuration.

You wll find the default request.xml file in the distribution.  To make the change permanent make sure you right click on the control and  select Data Operations ---- Make Current Value Default before saving

 

Installing NIscope

As of Netscope4 you may run the acquisition with Niscope cards.

If you want to run NiScope, you must add the NIscope acquisition routine

Open the acquisition vi and place a call to   NETSCOPE_NIscope_acquire.vi in the
acquisition loop As below
